Terry, Searching grew out of visits to Sunrise Senior Living in Henderson, Nevada, where my father-in-law, Terry, lives.

Based on photographs taken during one of these visits, I was drawn to a moment as Terry searched his memory for an answer. His gesture and expression suggested a thought just beyond reach.

The painting is part of an ongoing series inspired by these visits, where my attention has gradually expanded beyond Terry to the gestures, expressions, and quiet moments of the people around him.
