Three Paintings at the City Lights Art Gallery 2026 Fall Juried Art Show

Three of my paintings will be on view in the City Lights Art Gallery 2026 Fall Juried Art Show in Henderson, Nevada, from September 2–26, 2026.

The exhibition includes work by local artists across a range of media, with awards announced at the reception on September 12.

I’m showing three pieces: two from my recent figurative work, along with Desert Morning, a small departure from the subjects I’ve been painting lately.

The exhibition is on view at City Lights Art Gallery, 3 E. Army Street in Henderson, with an awards reception on September 12. I’ll be at the reception and would be glad to see you there.

Oil painting titled Desert Morning, showing a mourning dove perched within a sunlit desert landscape of muted earth tones and surrounding vegetation.

Desert Morning

Oil on canvas

16 × 20 in.

Desert Morning began as a break from portrait painting and a chance to work with less internal pressure and expectation. The subject came from the mourning doves I often watch and listen to in my backyard.

Oil portrait titled Terry, Listening, showing an older man in close view with one hand resting at his neck, his mouth slightly open and his gaze attentive.

Terry, Listening

Oil on canvas

24 × 36 in.

Figurative painting titled Quiet Resolve, showing a seated woman in a quiet, contemplative pose, rendered with expressive layers of acrylic and chalk pastel.

Quiet Resolve

Acrylic and chalk pastel on canvas

36 × 24 in.
